Эксперт по российскому оружейному экспорту и военной промышленности Ruslan Aliev has been with CAST since 2003. His areas of research include arms transfers from Russia and CIS with focus on Middle East and North Africa, as well as implementing modern informational technologies (e.g. web-based databases, mediawiki) in CAST research activities. He is interested in providing more transparency in arms transfers of Russia and it’s defense industry through web-collaborative activity headed by independent think-tanks. He is also regularly featured in national media, giving comments on topical issues. CURRENT ACTIVITIES — Information Department, Periscope project–tracing information on arms transfers of Russia and CIS; — Periscope.2 project on collecting, storing and providing the information on current trends in the defense industry and arms exports of Russia and CIS.
